2H-Cyclopenta [B] furan-2-one,hexahydro-4-(hydroxymethyl)-5-[(triethylsilyl)oxy]-,(3aR,4S,5R,6aS)-(also known as Trisiloxane Acetal or TsOH) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C13H28O4Si.
Nature:
-Appearance: Colorless to light yellow oily liquid.
-Melting point:-65 ℃.
-Boiling point: 140-150 ℃.
-Density: 0.966 g/mL.
-Refractive index: n20/D 1.451.
Use:
- TsOH is a strong acidic reagent, which is commonly used as an acid catalyst in organic synthesis and has excellent catalytic properties.
-It can be used to synthesize organic compounds containing ether bonds, fatty esters, etc.
-As a defoamer, it has application value in some industrial applications.
Method:
-TsOH is usually prepared by triethylsilane oxidation reaction and epoxidation reaction.
-First, triethylsilane is reacted with benzoyl peroxide and a chemical agent to generate triethylsilane acid.
-Then, triethylsilane acid is oxidized with cyclopentene to produce cyclopentaric acid.
-Finally, cycloglutaric acid is reacted with an acid catalyst to produce the final product TsOH.
